We recce’d in our tow/service Sequoia during the day on Thursday while Derek and crew found the car at the cabin later that day, did final preparation and got it through Scrutineering with no issues.

Friday was damp but not too bad. As you can see in the in-car video and pictures some of the stages were extremely wet. Several cars were off during the day - one stage losing 5 cars! Friday saw 12 cars DNF’d and Saturday retired another 4.

We had several incidents ourselves but each time, somehow, managed to recover and get back on stage. We did lose mud flaps and fender liners when they were ripped off as we drove of the very rough stage edges getting back on the road. We maintained modest but consistent times
concentrating on simply staying in the game.

Saturday dawned very wet with rain predicted through the day We continued to battle the elements and found ourselves in a tight race for 1st place 2WD with Wojtek Al Kulpa and Adam Pelc in their VW GTI. We each took fastest 2WD time on several stages and were fairly matched. In the end though they took 1st place overall due to us receiving a one minute penalty for an alleged timing error on Friday. But we were happy to share the podium and the champagne finish!

Unfortunately the torrential rain had flooded our cabin and we had a damp night before heading home on Sunday.

That was our last rally of the year.
